MAR 2016 New branding, the next step

Anyone who has been following my adventures over the years will know that I have been a freelance photographer since 2010, developing my style whilst exploring all of the usual subjects - weddings, portraits (both human and animal !), architecture, macro etc.

I love photography and continue to shoot regularly (I never leave home without a camera and am looking forward to the Wedding season starting soon) but I find myself more and more drawn to what can happen to an image once it has been captured and uploaded onto my PC.

I've always been a lover of big, bold statement pieces of art, ones that manage to convey meaning and cause a reaction without all of the detail and fuss of more intricate pieces. A great example of this is Julian Opie whose work I love:

My recent work has focused on this idea of simplification. To take an image, segment and simplify the composition and then introduce a bespoke colour palette is a great way of pushing my photography in a new direction.

In order to keep these two areas of my work separate I am currently working on some new branding:
'Maxine Walter Photography' will still exist both as my business name and as my 'Photographer' identity.
'Simply Love Art' is the new identity that some of you will have already seen through my Twitter and Instagram accounts. This will represent the e-Commerce side of my business and will be seen on Etsy, Artfinder and anywhere I sell my art in the future.

I look forward to sharing the new 'Simply Love Art' branding with you when complete.
